Ooh La LORAC

As we head into September, the last of the fall collections that I hadn’t seen are popping up at Sephora (or I’m finally noticing them!)  I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of LORAC’s new offerings after checking it out in store and I’m all about their fabulous new products.  (LORAC and I have a long-standing history of fabulousness, so I’m glad to see that it’s still there).

Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette is a really versatile palette that you can use to create looks for daytime, nighttime, or any occasion in between.  It comes with six shadows (three in each row) and what I like about it is that the rows are set up so that you can use each row to create a look separately, or mix and match the shades as you see fit.  I’ve been using the bottom row, which has more neutral shades of bronzes, to do my eyes for work, and I used the top row and its darker, more dramatic shades the other night when I was going out for drinks with some friends.  Here’s the full list of shadows – Lust (cream with shimmer), Smolder (matte gray), Risqu? (matte black), Stunner (light bronze with shimmer), Knockout (bronze with shimmer) and Racy (matte brown).  See what I mean?  You can tell how versatile the palette is just from reading those shade descriptions, but the shadows are also highly pigmented and blend like a dream, so it makes the $36 price tag even easier to justify.  And don’t even get me started on how cute the lace-wrapped box is!  I almost want to take it out at work and start putting on shadow again in the middle of the day just to show it off.  This one might have to be purchased a few extra times for Christmas gifts because I know a few of my friends and family members who would love them (none of whom are reading right now, hopefully!)

I also played around with their new Close Up: Real Life to Red Carpet Natural to Dramatic Face Tutorial.  (I think someone must’ve gotten paid by the word to name that!)  It’s a collection of five different products that you can use to create a full face look – a Starry-Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio in LORACstar, a Front Of The Line Pro in Black, a Multiplex 3D Lashes Mascara in Black, a Blush in Soul and a Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick in Trend Setter.  I really love the Trend Setter Liquid Lipstick.  It’s what I would call a bronzy-pink, so it’s the perfect neutral shade to wear during the daytime or pair with a smoky eye at night.  And I have yet to meet a Starry-Eyed Baked Shadow Trio that I haven’t loved, so LORACstar with its pinks and bronzes is right up my alley.  All the rest of the products are fabulous as well and they all go together nicely to create a finished look.  The set also comes with an easy to follow instruction booklet that shows you how to do both a natural day look and a dramatic night look – a nice bonus.  At only $39, it’s such a worthy purchase because the set has $120 worth of products in it.  Snatch one up now before they’re gone!
